What is share CFD trading?

Share CFD trading allows you to speculate on the price movements of publicly listed company stocks without owning the underlying shares. You open a Buy position if you expect the price to rise, or a Sell position if you expect it to fall. Your profit or loss reflects the price difference between your entry and exit point, multiplied by your position size. No brokerage account, share register, or settlement period is required.

Do I receive dividends when trading share CFDs at iFOREX?

You do not receive physical dividend payments. However, dividend adjustments are applied to open CFD positions on ex-dividend dates. If you hold a long (Buy) position, a credit equivalent to the dividend is typically applied to your account. If you hold a short (Sell) position, the equivalent amount is debited. This ensures CFD prices fairly reflect the underlying stock's dividend events.

Can I short sell shares with iFOREX?

Yes. Share CFDs let you open Sell (short) positions to potentially profit from falling share prices — during earnings misses, sector downturns, or broader market corrections. This is one of the primary advantages of CFD trading over traditional equity investing, where you can only profit from rising prices.
